The Department of Clinical Medicine is central to Macquarie University's initiative to develop Australia's first fully-integrated health sciences centre under university leadership.
With a focus on optimal patient care, the Department strives to integrate internationally-renowned research with exemplary teaching and training in clinical practice.
Our close relationship with Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics provides a unique opportunity for both translational and health services research, as well as an unrivalled platform for undergraduate and postgraduate clinical sciences students.
Current areas of academic strength include:
- neurosciences (especially motor neurone disease, neurological rehabilitation, the clinical neuroscience of pain, and visual science research)
- cancer medicine (especially personalised cancer medicine, targeted therapies and immunotherapy)
- vascular science
